our freshly renovated cabin(s) are finally ready!
The Crescent Ranch Resort is currently under renovation, but we are open! Our Thompson Cabin is the first to be made available as a short term rental, or vacation rental. The remaining 4 cabins are in various states of construction and we hope to be opening them soon!
HCRR includes working small animal farm (Vintage Life Farm). We have 9 goats, over 45 chickens, and two beautiful Colorado Mountain Dogs overseeing the operation when we cannot! While we have separated our “friends” from the cabins, you still may hear an occasional goat bleat, rooster crow or dog bark throughout the day. This isn’t for everyone, but if you like the idea of a vintage farm you just might fall in love!

the cabins
We have recently finished the complete renovation of our first cabin, which we are calling the Thompson Cabin! You can learn more about the process here and reserve it here!
Like the Lodge at the Historic Crescent Ranch Resort, the cabins, too, have a fun history. The Silas and Attie Thompson, who built the lodge, also built and ran a very successful saw mill. So successful, that they needed cabins to house the hired help.
Right now, four of the five cabins, two of which are duplexes, are in very sad shape. Our primary focus is bringing the cabins back to life which will allow for a much different, but equally exciting experience at the Historic Crescent Ranch Resort. Right now, we have the second cabin over 50% complete and hope to have it open by October 2021. Each cabin has views of Pike’s Peak to the south. All of them come fully furnished and have running water, heat and private bathrooms and their own kitchens!
the lodge
The 5500 square foot Lodge at the Historic Crescent Ranch Resort is a true piece of Colorado history. It was originally built in 1887 by Silas and Atlanta Thompson as a boarding house for ranchers and miners passing through. In 1950, the Lodge was moved onto a purpose-built foundation so that it could be available for future generations to enjoy!
Once renovations are complete, there will be 4 rooms available upstairs for reservations, each with a private bathroom. The two bedrooms located on the south side of the Lodge have unobstructed views of Pike’s Peak. The front two bedrooms have an equally beautiful view to the north of a 2000 acre ranch where you will frequently see a large herd of elk, or coyotes, or hawks, or owls!
On the main level, guests will have access to the front room lodge area with a wood burning fireplace and views of rolling hills. Breakfast will be served in this rustic room and a beverage station will be available to guests 24/7.
The Lodge is currently under much needed construction to bring it back to it’s former glory. We can’t wait to get it back in shape and ready for beautiful people like yourself to come and enjoy!
